Name of Organization 

The name of the organization is NGALAKERI PUBLIC HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL ADVANCEMENT INTERVENSIONS, which shall be briefly referred to as NGALAKERI meaning the morning the traditional name derived from local tribe to refer joy and happiness.

This Non-Government Organization (NGO) comprises of individuals who feel highly responsible for improving the health standards of our populations and are concerned with environmental destruction. We have therefore decided to form a non-governmental organization (NGO) to deal with both health and environment problems. We as a team shall work at and with the community applying participatory approaches to complement governmental effort in combating both infectious and non infectious diseases affecting majority of our people. We shall also initiate and support environmental conservation efforts, hygiene, town cleaning, crop and tree growing. The central focus of our activities shall be at the Community level with the aim of improving living standards and the peoples’ health. We shall involve communities right from the conception of ideas for the activities, to identify needs and devising novel and effective solutions and all the way through to the application of such solutions and evaluating the end results. Communities will own and take responsibility for sustaining effective interventions, learning how and when to seek for additional support as need arises and be active in the promotion of healthy lifestyles. The initiative will endeavor to boost not only the community health standards but also their economy and reduce poverty. The NGO will also take an advisory role and undertake consultancies as may be needed.
